This teenage pregnancy center, located in the capitol of the Dominican Republic, is designed to be a safe place for young girls to continue their education during their pregnancy. Sponsored by a local Santo Domingo church, the goal of this project was to create a protected environment that incorporates the necessary comforts for pregnant women while prioritizing the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic. This project strives to incorporate light and color in a manner that is both familiar and exciting for occupants, creating a physical and literal representation of the light that this ministry is pouring into the lives of these young, pregnant girls.
Level One - Divided into four separate buildings, this plan has a campus-like feel that allows occupants to have a greater sense of freedom as they travel between spaces.
