This teenage pregnancy center, located in the capitol of the Dominican Republic, is designed to be a safe place for young girls to continue their education during their pregnancy. Sponsored by a local Santo Domingo church, the goal of this project was to create an environment that was safe and private while also incorporating the necessary comforts for pregnant women and the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic. This project strives to incorporate light and color in a manner that is both familiar and exciting for occupants, creating a physical and literal representation of the light that this ministry is pouring into the lives of these young, pregnant girls.
Level One - Divided into four separate buildings, this plan has a campus-like feel that allows occupants to have a greater sense of freedom as they travel between the various spaces.
